New Basketball Clinics in Boston: Methuen, MA and Cambridge, MA Areas!
This winter, Premier Hoops is expanding into the Cambridge, MA and Methuen, MA Areas to offer high quality basketball skill development programs for youth basketball players.
Premier is excited to offer basketball clinics once per week in these areas because they are close to many other “basketball towns.” Such areas include: Haverhill, Andover, North Andover, Merrimack, Lowell, Lawrence, Pelham New Hampshire, Salem New Hampshire, Dracut, Plaistow New Hampshire, and more towns in Northeast MA.
Cambridge area training will be open to many cities in the Boston, MA area, including: Cambridge, Boston, Watertown, Mattapan, Hyde Park, Dorchester, Roxbury, Brighton, Brookline, Belmont, Newton, Wellesley, and more Metrowest cities. We are even seeing enrollment from players in Rhode Island (RI) and Worcester, MA.
Winter Training League:
Sunday night basketball clinics will be held at the Shady Hill School in Cambridge, MA. The skills training sessions are open to 4th-8th grade boys and girls and will run for 10 weeks from Dec – Feb. Each Sunday night session in Cambridge will go for 1.5 hours and we expect to work on fundamental drills first and then scrimmage. The current enrollment is filled with competitive players and this will definitely make each player better who participates in the clinic. Over the course of this 10-week basketball program we expect all of our Boston athletes to improve in the following areas: conditioning, endurance, strength, shooting, passing, ball-handling and finishing skills (view our website to see more info on this program).
Monday night skill sessions will be held at the Latitude Sports Club in Methuen. This session will run from Dec 1 – Feb 9 and will be available to younger players of 7-10 years old and older middle and high school players of 11-15 years of age. The program is open to both boys and girls and will focus of developing skills of passing, shooting, ball-handling, scrimmaging, and more. We are excited to see younger players because we feel as though our high level coaches can establish an excellent fundamental skills base for them. Players will learn new drills that they can practice on their own in between sessions. After this 8-week program players will show improvement in many of the fundamental basketball skills that we will be practicing (view our website to see more info on this program).
Leading into Spring 2015:
As the Methuen (New Hampshire Area) and Cambridge (Boston Area) programs get going, Premier Hoops will be offering tryouts for Elite AAU teams, who will play in the Zero Gravity Basketball Circuit.
Tryouts for these competitive teams will be open to boys and girls from 4-12 grade. These are the top middle and high school players coming from Middlesex, Metrowest, and Merrimack counties. Many of the players at tryouts will be from Eastern, Massachusetts, but we expect other to coming from New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Worcester is also being a popular area from where we are seeing competitive players.
Tryouts will be held in January, February and March and then the Spring Circuit will begin in April.
The circuit will go from April – June and we will be carrying teams for the following age groups:
Girls: 5th/6th/7th/8th/9th/10th/Varsity
Boys: 4th/5th/6th/7th/8th/9th/10th/Varsity
Part of the reason why many of our players return and the competition level in our program is growing is because of our highly experienced basketball coaches.
Many of our coaches are former college basketball players. Some of our coaches have even played at the professional level. In combination with this game experience our coaches are also trained on the “Premier Hoops Basketball System”. Several of our coaches are currently Varsity High School Basketball Coaches and this experience carries into the AAU circuit.
